The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
is a delightfully restored 5-mile branch line which joins the national
railway network at Keighley in West Yorkshire and runs up the Worth Valley
through Haworth's famous Bronte Country to the village of Oxenhope.
The village of Oxenhope is 1.5 miles away, with the terminus
of the Worth Valley Railway. There is a park in the village with childrens
play area, tennis courts and a bowling green, and several pubs which serve
bar snacks. There is an excellent Co-op & Post Office in Oxenhope & a mobile hairdresser by appointment
Haworth, of Bronte fame, is about 2 miles
away, and boasts the Bronte Parsonage Museum. In the old cobbled Main
St., there are shops, pubs, and various tea rooms, and lower down in Haworth
there is a station for the Worth Valley Railway.
