Things to do and places to see
Haworth, of Brontë fame, is about 2 miles away, and boasts the Brontë Parsonage Museum. In the old cobbled Main Street there are shops, pubs, and various tea rooms, and lower down in Haworth there is a station for the Worth Valley Railway.
Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is a delightfully restored 5-mile branch line which joins the national railway network at Keighley in West Yorkshire and runs up the Worth Valley through Haworth’s famous Brontë Country to the village of Oxenhope.
The village of Oxenhope is 1.5 miles away, with the terminus of the Worth Valley Railway. There is a park in the village with childrens play area, tennis courts and a bowling green, and several pubs which serve bar snacks. There is an excellent Co-op & Post Office in Oxenhope & a mobile hairdresser by appointment
Walking & outdoor activities
The moors and valleys in the area offer a large number of walks for those of all abilities. Walks to Haworth, Top Withins, Bronte Falls and many other attractions are all easily accessible from the cottage. For more ambitious walkers, the Pennine Way is only 4 miles from the cottage.
If you want to go a little further afield we are only a short drive from the Yorkshire Dales National Park which offer even more opportunities for walking, bird watching, cycling and many other outdoor pursuits.
